The Howland Public Library
The Howland Public Library is a wonderful place to meet other local families. The library offers excellent children’s programming such as Story Time, Spanish Story Hour, Come & Play, and Lego Club in addition to adult programming and rotating art exhibitions.
The Beacon Recreation Center
The Beacon Recreation Center, located at 23 West Center Street, hosts Wee Play’s Imagination Playground Block Party once a week throughout the school year. In addition, the center hosts many other programs and events, including Rec Center Fun Days!

Hudson Highlands Nature Museum
(Cornwall, NY) A small, but wonderful nature museum. Has charming “meet the animals” events every weekend and many other events as well. Also has an “Outdoor Discovery Center” with many wonderful trails (quite a few of which are stroller-friendly). Also has a summer camp, pre-schools and mini-camps on holidays. Your trip can end with a snack at nearby Jones Farm
(which also has a few farm animals to visit) or a meal in Cornwall.
Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art: State University of New York at New Paltz
(Norwalk, CT) A small two room art museum. Note: opening hours follow University schedule (closed over school breaks, etc.)
New York State Museum
(Albany, NY) Offers historical exhibits, art, a bit of natural history, and a carousel.
West Point Museum
